On Sunday, July 20, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk with his wife Theresa traditionally joined the All-Ukrainian Pilgrimage in Zarvanytsya in Ternopil region.

Along with tens of thousands of faithful, the PM attended in the liturgy at the Maria Spiritual Center in Zarvanytsya.

Following the liturgy at the invitation of Head of Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, Patriarch Sviatoslav, Arseniy Yatsenyuk appealed to Ukrainians from all corners of the country and from abroad who gathered in Zarvanytsia village and noted that Ukraine was currently going through a crucial time: "So, this is God’s as well as history’s will - we again have to struggle for our freedom, for our independence, relatives, families and European future of our country."

"Our country has resisted the Bolsheviks, the Church has survived from "Soviets "and I can assure you that we will survive and win. God is with us and with us is the truth,” said the Prime Minister.

The PM recalled that he had a meeting with Pope Francis in Rome at the ceremony of the canonization of Pope John Paul II: "the Pope is praying for Ukraine. The whole Christian world is supporting Ukraine, and we together in our unity, in our common efforts and in our faith shall gain this victory".

Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that during his stay in Sloviansk he talked to local residents, "I saw the fear in their eyes, and people here also say -"we are afraid of war. "Pope John Paul II often repeated the evangelical words - "do not be afraid." We are not afraid, we are confident, we are sure, we believe and we shall overcome everything. "

The pilgrimage in Zarvanytsya was also attended by Minister of Culture of Ukraine Yevhen Nyschuk and Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yelensky.
