PM promises that everyone involved in looting in the army to be jailed

"Everyone who is seeking to make a fortune out of the servicemans family, a body armor, helmet, fuel or equipment is a criminal. The law enforcement system has all the opportunities to bring these people to justice," said Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk at a press conference on Thursday, July 31, noting that it was his appeal to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

The Prime Minister has reminded that the Ministry of Finance released on its website all decisions and all items of expenditures as to financing the Armed Forces and the National Guard of Ukraine.

The law On Public Procurement has been adopted. It provides the transparent procurement process. And nobody shall loot in the army and in the current war. And those who will do this must be jailed," he emphasized.

He also appealed to the media to take public control of any such allocation of funds.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that key expenditure is the provision of fuel, lubricants, new types of weapons for the Ukrainian Army the National Guard of Ukraine. The Prime Minister signed a state defense contract, and the Government will spend billions on new types of weapons under this contract.

Moreover, the Government provides funds for the preparation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for winter: "Everything will depend on how the campaign will go."
