On Friday, September 12, the Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk received Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovakia Miroslav Lajčák.

The Head of Government evaluated the efforts of the Slovak Government to support Ukraine in overcoming security and energy challenges.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk expressed concern in connection with reducing by Russia of gas supplies to certain EU countries, including Slovakia. "The goal of the Russian Gazprom is to force the countries being Ukraine's neighbours to cease reverse gas supplies to Ukraine", - said the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

“At this difficult time it is vital to demonstrate unity and solidarity of the European Union,” he noted.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine discussed with Miroslav Lajčák issues of economic stabilization. Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed the need to continue cooperation programs with the international financial institutions and called on the European Union to prolong supporting the reforms carried out by Ukraine.
