27, Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with the US Secretary of
Commerce Penny Pritzker, who is staying in Ukraine on
a visit.
The Prime Minister reiterated the
strong commitment of the Government to further reforms,
called to create better conditions for investment in Ukraine. "Of course,
it is not easy to invite investors into the country, in which there are Russian
tanks", - said the Prime Minister of Ukraine. However, the Government has
managed to facilitate important decisions to be taken on deregulation,
elimination of a number of regulatory bodies, large-scale reduction of permits
and licenses.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed the
priority issues remain those of combating corruption and tax reform. "The
Government has a clear action plan in these areas. I believe that the incumbent
Parliament and the new one will vote for the Government's bills," said he.
The Ukrainian PM and the Secretary
of Commerce agreed on joining actions in top priority issues for the two
states. Namely,
it concerns drawing American investments into projects related to energy and
agriculture sectors, and the support of the United States in intellectual
property protection, deregulation and tax reform. It will create necessary
prerequisites for holding a large-scale Ukrainian-American business summit,
Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Penny Pritzker agreed to
organize.
