The construction of an additional gas
interconnection pipeline between Ukraine and
Poland will provide around 80
million cubic meters of gas per day that will
allow buying all the gas volume required in the EU,
the Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed at
a meeting of the anti-crisis energy center on
Friday, October 31.
The Prime Minister has underlined that he supports
the proposal made by NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy and the
Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine regarding
the construction of this pipeline.
The Prime Minister has stressed
that an additional gas pipeline will
allow buying the additional gas volume up
to 80 million cubic meters a
day: "This actually means that we will be able to
buy all the necessary natural gas in the member
states of the European Union."
Arseniy Yatsenyuk has emphasized the
need to urgently prepare a construction project between Ukraine and
Poland and to hold talks with the
European Investment Bank and the European
Bank for Reconstruction and Development on
the financing of the project.
"I set the term that we will
commission this gas pipeline in 2016. This
is realistic," the Prime Minister
added.
