Delegation of State Special Communications and Information Protection participated in Global Cyberspace Cooperation Summit V

Berlin hosted the 2014 Global Cyberspace Cooperation Summit V co-organized by EastWest Institute (USA) and the German Foreign Office on December 3-5. The event was attended by First Deputy Chairman of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection Olexandr Korneyko and Director of the Special Information and Telecommunication Systems of the Special Communication Administration Serhiy Nezhurbida.

About 300 experts from over 40 countries were attracted to the summit’s work. Among the topical issues discussed at the summit, the interest amounted to discuss ways to improve the sustainability of threats to critical infrastructures and improving international procedures to identify crimes in the cyber sphere.

In addition, during the events there were two useful meetings with the Head of the Cyber Policy Coordination, German Federal Foreign Office, Mr Karsten Geier, and the President of the German Cyber Security Council, Arne Schönbohm. These meetings provided an opportunity to learn about the main approaches to the organization of the national cyber security system in the Federal Republic of Germany, the division of powers among agencies in Germany and inform about the ongoing efforts undertaken by Ukraine in the sphere of cybersecurity.
