Protection of interests
of the Ukrainian state in courts is a matter of national security, said Prime
Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk on Thursday, December 11 while presenting
in Parliament the Government's Action Program.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded
that Ukraine had filed against the Russian Federation two claims to the European
Court of Human Rights, "Russia as an aggressor country is obliged to
compensate Ukraine for the damages caused by the illegal annexation of Crimea
and Russian military aggression".
He informed that the
total volume of the claim today reaches over USD 1 trillion.
Apart from that,
Ukraine has launched a procedure of filing a claim against the Russian
Federation to the International Court of Justice containing
that the Russian Federation violated the International Convention for the suppression
of the financing of terrorism, "Russia is financing terrorism, and she must
be liable for that. So, she will be brought before the International Court of
Justice".
