The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will take a decision to separate the
Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization from the State Telecommunications
University. Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced in his
communication with the cadets of this higher educational institution on
Thursday, January 29.
"Hence, you will be directly subordinate to the Ministry of Defence
and train personnel for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In order to make you an
independent institution and to remove a superstructure over you in the shape of
the State Telecommunications University", he said.
Similar decision, according to the Head of the Government, will be adopted
by the Cabinet of Ministers for Zhytomyr Military Institute named after S. P. Korolyov.
This step will afford to distribute the funds received by the Institute
from the state budget, from retraining and additional training (according to
the head of the Institute it amounts about UAH 19 million UAH) directly inside
the Institute in order to form its material-technical basis and “to do
everything to ensure the Institute could train professional and strong cadres",
stressed the Head of Government.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted that he would draw peculiar
attention to this educational institution of the western
partners and the NATO member states, including targeting to receive technical
and logistical assistance.
He reminded that the NATO contact center had
been opened the day before. Earlier at its summit the NATO had decided to set
up 5 trust funds for Ukraine. "Two trust funds concern you directly: cybersecurity and logistics in the Armed Forces”.
