Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and President of Lithuania discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries

A Ukrainian delegation headed by Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Hanna Onyshchenko, on her visit to the Republic of Lithuania, met with President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė. During the meeting the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has noted that the Government of Ukraine, despite the difficult situation in the country, is committed to implementing radical reforms in line with the best European practices and appreciates the Lithuania’s steadfast support for Ukraine.

The Ukrainian delegation also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius, Chairpersons of the Seimas Committee on Foreign Affairs Benediktas Juodka, the European Affairs Committee Gediminas Kirkilas, the Office of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania Alminas Maciulis and deputies of the Seimas and representatives of the government of Lithuania.

The sides discussed bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Lithuania, the current state of reforms’ implementation by Ukraine, as well as held the 11th meeting of the Standing Ukrainian-Lithuanian Commission for European integration. As a result it was agreed to exchange best practices in the implementation of commitments to the EU in the context of the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, as well as in implementing reforms in the agricultural, social, cultural, regional and economic policies.

In addition, the sides have welcomed the ratification by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the agreement on the establishment of the Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian military brigade on February 4, as well as agreed to support the Ukrainian government and her citizens in the fight against aggression of the Russian terrorist groups in the East Ukraine, as well as continuing rehabilitation of Ukrainian servicemen - ATO participants in Lithuanian hospitals.
