The Ukrainian Government
considers a possibility to reduce the cost of the project to construct the
defensive facility at the state border called the European Rampart. This was
announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk during the extended
meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on Wednesday, 11 February, with
the participation of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Chairman of the
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroysman, chairmen of regional state
administrations.
The Head of
Government informed he had had talks on this matter with Chairman of the State Border
Service of Ukraine Viktor Nazarenko.
"There is a
solution how to cut the cost of the development of the state border maximally,"
he stressed.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted that
the main part of the project involves Kharkiv region. He appealed to the head
of Kharkiv regional state administration Ihor Rainin to hold a joint meeting with the Head of the State Border
Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, "We’ll meet
and launch urgent activity to prolong work on the fortification of the state
border, primarily on the territory of Kharkiv region".
