On Wednesday, May 13, in the framework of a
working visit to Paris Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk met with
President of France Francois Hollande.
Prime Minister of Ukraine discussed with the President of the French Republic
particular steps in supporting Ukraine.
Moreover, the Prime Minister also considered with the President of France
the state of implementation of the Minsk agreements, including constant breach
of the ceasefire regime by Russia-led terrorists. The Prime Minister of Ukraine
informed Francois Hollande on the steps made by the
Ukrainian side to strictly observe the Minsk agreements.
President F. Hollande noted the importance of
joining efforts by the international community in supporting Ukraine, its European
choice and the reform progress. In this regard, the Head of Government
emphasized the significance to increase participation of French entrepreneurs
in the restoration of the Ukrainian economy.
To present an investment potential of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk and
Francois Hollande decided to organize an investment
summit in Paris this autumn.
A large-scale privatization launched by the Government of Ukraine and coming
in force of a free trade area agreement between Ukraine and the European Union
on January 1, 2016 will open new opportunities for trade and investment
project, stressed the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
An important shared priority appears the fight against corruption.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Francois Hollande agreed to
draw experts from France to combat money laundering and investigate
corruption crimes of former Ukrainian officials, many of whom had hidden
their income in France. Other promising areas include strengthening
cooperation in the field of banking supervisory matters and collaboration
among customs authorities.
In the framework of his working visit to Paris Arseniy Yatsenyuk is
scheduled to meet with Prime Minister of France Manuel Valls,
Secretary General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and
Development Jose Angel Gurria, as well as with
representatives of business circles of France.
