"All U.S.
officials consider political unity between the President and the Government and
political responsibility of the whole coalition as a keystone to success in
carrying out reforms in Ukraine," Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk at a Government’s
meeting on Friday, 12 June.
He recalled that
the next plenary week the Parliament will consider bills "necessary to
make Ukraine continue gradually following the path of reforms."
Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed that the parliamentary coalition should
support these laws because they are the preconditions for receiving the next IMF
tranche in the amount of USD1.7 billion.
These draft laws,
the Head of Government noted, include an increase in independence of the
National Bank of Ukraine, make it possible to reform the energy sector and bring
order to the financial component of NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk informed that there had already been discussions
with coalition partners regarding these bills: "I am convinced that the
coalition will support not only these three bills, but the entire reform plan,
which we are consistently implementing to make 2016 a year of growth."
The Prime
Minister reminded that yesterday he together with Finance Minister of Ukraine
Natalie Jaresko returned from the United States, where
they were on a working visit: "The level of support that we have in the
United States among U.S. top political officials - including the U.S. President,
Vice-President,
White House, Congress, Senate, Departments of Energy, Finance, Commerce of the
United States - shows that Ukraine is moving in the right direction."
The Prime
Minister underlined that after meetings of the Ukrainian delegation with the US
leadership were made relevant statements, including by the White House, appropriate
Departments and the International Monetary Fund "that the reforms being
carried out by Ukraine are difficult, but proper, and Ukraine is on the only
right path."
"All U.S.
officials consider political unity between the President and the Government and
political responsibility of the whole coalition as a keystone to success in
carrying out reforms in Ukraine," Arseniy Yatsenyuk emphasized.
