The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a decision which introduced a new procedure for the passage of goods in ports. It meets European standards and will take an hour, in contrast to today’s terms up to 15 hours. Prime Minister of Ukraine ArseniyYatsenyuk said this at a government meeting on Wednesday, July 8.

The implementation of initiatives of the Infrastructure Ministry approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will allow to reduce the time of stay in port, increase port capacity by 15-20%, and eliminate conditions for corruption schemes, the scale of which is estimated at UAH 3 billion per year.

Henceforth, seaports will see a reduction in the number of procedures and supervisory authorities involved in the registration of cargo ships.

The new scheme of carrying out cargo in Ukrainian ports that meets European standards will be implemented within 45 days. Term of registration of transit cargo will decrease from 10-15 hours (in some cases - up to several days) to 1 hour.
