At a meeting of the State Commission on technogenic and
environmental safety and emergencies on Friday, Prime Minister of Ukraine
Arseniy Yatsenyuk instructed leadership of the regional state administrations
to urgently summon meetings of relevant commissions to enhance the security of
forest areas. In particular, he gave an order to introduce additional control
measures and terminate hunting.
The Head of Government reminded that under current legislation,
the restrictions to hunt are issued by decisions of relevant local authorities,
so he requested the head of the State Emergency Service to provide a complete
list of areas where necessary to restrict travel of persons and accordingly to
terminate hunting. "To issue this decision as a directive of the State
Commission for Emergencies," urged Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
Moreover, the Prime Minister of Ukraine stressed the need to
work with the citizens. "We should gather village heads and they should
just explain it to the people. If they burn grass, fire can spread to a peat
bog. This peat bog sets on fire – and forests burn again. So, we send planes
there". Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded that forest fires cause not only
economic losses for the state, but often cause casualties.
"So, it concerns each area, my colleagues. Following
the meeting of our Commission you should summon your regional commissions. You
should invite mayors and heads of village councils. Work directly with
people," stressed the Head of Government.

Affairs to intensify control over the travel of persons along the exclusion
Apart from that, the Prime Minister gave an order to Arsen Avakov, for the period of heatwave, to send for several weeks additional MIA and the
National Guard forces to protect and supervise the alienation area.
