"The state will no longer subsidize the oligarchs who made billions on gas business and the rich who paid for rates the same sum as people who do not have money": "Those who need the state’s help will receive it in the form of subsidies," Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, on Wednesday, September 16, at a meeting with members of the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations.

As of today, almost 2.8 million households applied for subsidies - about 9 million people. He has noted that another 2 million households are expected to obtain subsidies.

The Prime Minister stressed that certain political forces are using the issue of tariffs in the run-up to the elections, moreover, these are those who signed a gas contract with Russia for $500.

"We lost $16 billion by it. If those who signed this contract agree with Putin to return 16 billion, we will hand out part of this money to the citizens of the country," said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
