As the result of
the inspections conducted by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Prime Minister
of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk
calls on the Head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine to immediately implement
the law on lustration, and thus dismiss 42% of the SFS’s central apparatus as
well as 15% of the apparatus of the regional branches. The
Head of Government said this at a governmental meeting on Wednesday, 21
October.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded that two weeks ago he ordered the
Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and special lustration department to check the
State Fiscal Service in terms of implementation of the lustration law.
He informed that
the Justice Ministry had examined 344 personal files of the State Fiscal
Service’s senior management - the central office as well as all the service’s
regional branches, including heads and deputy heads, and relevant heads of customs.
"As the
result of the checks carried out by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, 42% of the
senior management of the SFS’s central apparatus fall
under immediate dismissal. 15%
of the senior management of the service's regional branches are
also subject to immediate dismissal," emphasised the Prime Minister.
"Following
inspections I urge the Head of the State Fiscal Service to immediately fulfill the
lustration law and dismiss 42% of the central apparatus of the State Fiscal
Service, as well as 15% of the apparatus of regional branches of the SFS under
the law," he stressed.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk pointed out that this was the first step towards
the formation of a new State Fiscal Service "on the same principle as we are
forming the National police and offer to form new Ukrainian courts."
