Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk has arrived to
Brussels, where on December 7 he is scheduled to hold the second meeting of the
EU – Ukraine Association Council.
The Prime Minister
of Ukraine met with Vice-President of the European Commission for Energy Union Maroš Šefčovič.
The parties discussed reverse gas supplies to Ukraine from
the EU and joining efforts to modernize the Ukrainian GTS, as well as the establishment of a new model of contractual
relations for the delivery of natural gas to European consumers via the
territory of Ukraine.
In his conversation
with Maroš Šefčovič, Arseniy Yatsenyuk stressed the importance of
avoiding the implementation of projects such as Nord stream-2: "In this
project there is no economy, but only politics and blackmail instead."
The Prime Minister of Ukraine is also scheduled to meet with
European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Günther
Oettinger, member of the European Parliament Elmar Brok.
On Monday, 7 December, the Prime Minister of Ukraine will
preside over the meeting of the Association Council together with High
Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy -
Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini.
