The Government plans to engage international companies to the management of Volyn, Lviv, Chernivtsi and Zakarpattia customs agencies: "This should be a company having experience of combating corruption in customs agencies, able to make a complete change in the system of maintenance and management", stressed Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk during the open meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Thursday, 11 February.

The new management scheme, he said, envisages "simplified customs services and enlarged budget revenues from the customs".

The Head of Government accentuated that these changes are expected to evoke "incredible resistance from the system": "But we have to prove that such experiment at the four customs will yield success."

Arseniy Yatsenyuk reminded that in Lviv, Chernivtsi, Volyn and Odessa regions there had been launched an experiment to direct additional revenue from the customs for the construction of roads. All the regions, except for Odessa, demonstrated a success: three regions could have directed the additional funds to build roads.
