"For the first time in history of
Ukraine we will pass though the winter without Russian gas", stressed
Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk on Friday, 12 February, at a
meeting with representatives of the diplomatic corps
accredited in Ukraine.
He stressed that Ukraine had managed
to diversify the supplies of natural gas: "Due
to our joint activities with the EU member countries, with our Western partners, the
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the World
Bank and other international organizations, we have provided
significant diversification and energy independence for the country. For the
first time in history of Ukraine we will pass through the
winter without Russian gas. This is a real reform."
Arseniy Yatsenyuk also expressed
gratitude to Western partners - the European Union,
the USA, the European Bank for Reconstruction
and Development for the assistance
