According to the Government plan, on May 1 it starts a first
stage of boosting social standards by 6%: "An overall yearly increase in social
standards we plan males up 12%, which will reimburse price and tariff hikes that
were forecast for 2016," stressed Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy
Yatsenyuk at the CMU session on Wednesday, 6 April.
Up to 10 million citizens – with 3.5 million public sector
workers and 6.5 million pensioners – starting May 1,
will be paid improved welfare payments.
In addition, the Government raises by 10% the payroll for
employees belonging to 1-3 categories of the Unified Wage Scale.
Apart from that, according to the Minister of Social Policy of
Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko, a total of about 14 million
people will receive social benefits.
The Minister of Social Policy stressed that ordinance of the
Cabinet of Ministers contains clear instructions that heads of budget
institutions should not wait for departmental orders to raise payments:
"They should increase wages to their employees, by making changes in staffing
table by issuing relevant orders."
