The model of Energy Efficiency Fund was presented to representatives of donor organizations. The presentation took place during a meeting of the members of the working group on the establishment and operation of the Fund. The participants emphasized the importance to prepare as quickly as possible the legislative framework to ensure the full functioning of the Energy Efficiency Fund: to amend existing legislation and adopt new acts.

"In particular, it is very important to adopt the Law "On Energy Efficiency Fund", which legitimizes the operation of this public financial institution", said Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services Eduard Kruglyak. He noted it is vital to encourage professional staff to work in the regions, particularly highly skilled engineers.

We shall remind that the Energy Efficiency Fund is a key tool of implementation of an important reform for the country which is energy efficiency reform, within responsibility of Vice Prime Minister/Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Hennadii Zubko. In February 2016, he presented the concept of the Fund, which enables to transfer to the European system of energy consumption, to reduce gas consumption twofold, to cut subsidy costs by 30 billion UAH per annum and to create up to 100 thousand new jobs.

Now the working party on the establishment and operation of the Fund is engaged in developing proposals for making amendments in legislation and elaborating necessary regulations that will provide the basis for the establishment of the Fund and its activity, in accordance with the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency for the period up to 2020. The relevant working group is headed by Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services Eduard Kruglyak, his Deputy was appointed Chairman of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine Serhii Savchuk.
