Prime Minister calls on Ministry of Social Policy to ensure increased one-off assistance to war veterans and bereaved families

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman urged the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine to ensure disbursement before May 5 of a related increase in one-time assistance to war participants, bereaved families, wives (husbands) of the war invalids who had died, participants of military actions, participants of wars and victims of Nazi persecution. The Prime Minister said on opening a Government meeting on Thursday, May 5th.

"The Ministry of Social Policy should make all necessary payments to veterans in May," stressed Volodymyr Groysman.

The Head of Government reminded that at a recent extraordinary meeting of the Government on April 29 a decision to increase an annual lumpsum payment to war veterans from 170 to 400 hryvnias had been adopted.

"It is necessary to secure payment of relevant sums to each veteran as also to the families of victims, to secure payment of the assigned assistance. I would ask you to work on this issue, on May 10 to agree that with the Budget Committee of the Parliament and make all necessary payments in proper way," accentuated Volodymyr Groysman.
