On Wednesday, May
25, during a Government meeting Prime Minister of
Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman commissioned to develop, together
with the Parliament, a bill aimed to
overcome the violations in
the export of nuts and other agricultural products that the processing
companies purchase from the population.
"I ask you
together with the committees, parliamentary factions to
develop a Law that envisages how to resolve it. Thereby,
the public policy will be protected, and the business, including
processing industry, will develop. There will appear
new initiatives, types, the centers of collecting
the appropriate products, facilities with
extensive processing, then we are capable
of manufacturing other produce with these components. We are
capable of doing it. And just because there exist
the privileged who exert pressure,
we are losing opportunities for the
development of the national economy. We should severely punish
for that," said Volodymyr Groysman.
The PM announced that the situation with the export of nuts was
the pure racket, in which certain state institutions had been engaged. “I consider
such behaviour as unacceptable in any normal civilized society: to pressure on
a business, to create problems, as a consequence to get a bribe and let go. It
means racket, pure racket. All of them should be sent back to the past",
he said.
The Prime Minister stressed that the Government would ensure
control over execution by the law enforcement agencies of a Resolution "On
amendments to the exhaustive list of grounds on which review (re-examination)
of goods, commercial vehicles can be conducted by the customs authorities of
Ukraine". In addition, information about the delay of cargoes production for
export will be published, he added.
