Ukraine has fulfilled all technical requirements necessary for the introduction of a visa-free regime with the European Union, and expects that the EU would take a relevant decision in 2016. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman stated this at a joint briefing with German Chancellor Angela Merkel following a meeting on Monday, June 27.

"Ukraine has fulfilled all technical requirements regarding the introduction of a visa-free regime. Now it’s up to the European Union to take a decision. We expect that this decision will be taken soon after solving the internal procedures of the European Union. We respect them and look forward to making the necessary decisions," he said.

According to Volodymyr Groysman, the issue of the introduction of a visa-free regime for Ukraine was one of the topics of talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

"I hope that in 2016 a decision will be taken and Ukrainians will be able to move freely across the European Union," Volodymyr Groysman noted.

"I am convinced that Ukrainians will perfectly fulfill all the necessary requirements under the laws and the introduction of a visa-free regime," he pointed out.
