Volodymyr Groysman: Government will stand up for a large-scale decentralization in 2017 State Budget
03.09.2016 | 18:07

The Government will defend a large-scale decentralization to be laid in the State Budget for 2017 despite the statements of certain politicians about the need to centralize resources. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a meeting with media people in Vinnytsia on Saturday, September 3.

"We preserve an extensive decentralization of finance which means that the funds will remain at the disposal of the regions next year. We will fight for it", said Volodymyr Groysman speaking about the Government's priorities defined in the draft State Budget for 2017.

He noted that certain Ukrainian statemongers are telling "that we should consolidate more money in the center, in Kyiv. I categorically oppose that", urged the Prime Minister.

"Cities, towns, villages, districts, counties should receive funds on a direct basis – neither from committees of the Parliament nor from ministries, but directly: they earn a hryvnia to the budget - they immediately distribute it. Therefore, the decentralization - I want to appeal to all cities, towns, villages, districts, regions - will be preserved", accentuated Volodymyr Groysman.
