The Government has managed to solve an issue of procurement and delivery of a number of medicines for adults and children and it will continue planned purchases to ensure 100% in the provision of medicines, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman was quoted as saying during A Question Time at the VR of Ukraine on Friday.

The Prime Minister noted that the problem of drug purchase and delivery had been a major challenge.

Currently, due to the efforts of the Government, about 90% of medications that were purchased had been already delivered to Ukraine. In particular, tests for TB - 74% of the planned figure, children's oncology - about 78%, adult oncology - 90%, HIV tests – 99%, children's hepatitis - 99%, adults hepatitis - 67%, children's hemophilia - 100%, the Prime Minister told the details, commenting on measures implemented by the Government to support children.

"This proves that we engage in substantive work in this area. We will bring this figure to 100%, ensure their delivery to the destination, and will prolong procurement procedures in the planned mode through credible international organizations. But here we are now caught up with the time, which, unfortunately, was wasted", said the Head of Government.

Volodymyr Groysman also noted that in a Governmental bill on amendments to the Budget, that had been supported by the Parliament the day before, there was determined UAH 35 million for hearing aid implants and activities for children.

In the Budget for 2017 the Government has planned for this purpose almost a twofold increase - UAH 75 million.

In addition, the draft Budget for 2017 envisages the sum worth UAH 5.9 billion for the purchase of medicines, including those to cure children's diseases, said the Head of Government.
