Prime Minister chaired first field meeting of the National Industry Development Committee of Ukraine at PJSC Kryukov Railway Car Building Works

During his visit of PJSC Kryukov Railway Car Building Works, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman held a first field meeting of the National Industry Development Committee of Ukraine.

"Our task is to develop a mechanism of support for the domestic Ukrainian enterprises on the way of production of competitive goods, creating necessary added value through using each available opportunity and resource. Proper organization, coordination and support will enable us to obtain a very good result," said Volodymyr Groysman on opening the meeting.

The Head of Government noted that was the first meeting of the National Industry Development Committee of Ukraine that was taking place at the enterprise of the real sector. Its main topic for discussion is the possibility of stimulating the development of Ukrainian Railways and other machine building sector.

Volodymyr Groysman noted that PJSC "Ukrzaliznytsia", a potential billion-profit enterprise, in a decade had been driven to plight. Presently its rolling stock needs to be modernized as its depreciation makes up 80-90%.

The Prime Minister noted that the Government and the Parliament should unite efforts and stimulate the development of machine engineering in order to find necessary solutions. According to him, the President supports a policy of revival of the Ukrainian industry. Such joint endeavors will definitely strengthen the position of Ukraine both on domestic and foreign markets.

"We have a rather serious potential. We have technologies, necessary industrial base to manufacture a Ukrainian product. This product is competitive in many areas," he said, commenting on the inspection of the production facilities of AutoKrAZ and PJSC Kryukov Railway Car Building Works in Kremenchuk.

"My position is as follows: given that all conditions are equal, the Ukrainian product has to get support in Ukraine’s domestic market, as it is manufactured here, it creates jobs here, added value and taxes as well," stressed the Prime Minister.
