Decisions taken by the Government on Wednesday are to create environment for Ukrainian children to get high quality education

The decisions of the Government aimed to bring in changes in education sector will allow to create conditions and to provide high quality education in the country. This was stated by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, announcing at a session on Wednesday consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers of a number of documents designed to develop education and science of Ukraine.

"If we can having one higher education obtain another, a child attends kindergarten and school only once in life. We have no moral authority to limit childrens access to school, kindergarten, and most importantly to the quality of education. We must create the environment and provide education of appropriate quality," stressed Volodymyr Groysman, adding the Government is to approve the concept of a new Ukrainian school.

According to him, decisions to be taken by the Government will allow us to improve the situation in the education sector, and to plan its development in the medium and long term.

The Prime Minister stressed that the current objective was to provide secondary education sector with content and maintenance.

According to him, the main indicator of education is the quality of knowledge. The quality of knowledge, training in necessary specialties, employment it all traces its roots to kindergarten, said the Head of the Government. It is crucial to form this store [of knowledge] in such a way to ensure competition among the children."

Children are not just our future but they are our present. If we want our country to have a promising future, our children should not be deprived of high quality education, said the Prime Minister. Education is what will afford us to achieve a breakthrough in the economy and other spheres".

Among today's Government decisions is an ordinance on increase wages of teachers by two tariff ranks, said the Prime Minister. Given this decision, and raising the minimum wage twofold the average salary of teachers in 2017 will improve by 50%.

Speaking about recommendations to the formation of regional order for training in vocational schools, Volodymyr Groysman noted that the authorities of different levels in synergy should train highly skilled staff for the real sector of the economy.

This year, the Government has allotted UAH 50 million to change training programs for the three shortage vocational specialties. Next year this funding is planned to raise.

"I'd prefer vocational education be of good quality as well. We invest billions there, I prefer those billions be invested in particular Ukrainian student, who will get high skills, will work in the real sector, produce competitive national product and facilitate the development of the national economy", highlighted Volodymyr Groysman.
