PM: Ukraine's economy starts to recover

The Government has succeeded in performing the objectives, thereby ensuring stabilization of the national economy and renewal of its growth, and the statistics proves that unemployment rate in Ukraine is gradually decreasing and wages are rising. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on opening a Government session on Wednesday.

"We are responsible for our promises. When we assumed Government offices, our challenge was to stabilize the economy, stop the political slump, resume economic growth. Today I want to assert: Ukraines economy starts to recover. This is an extremely difficult process. We will see statistical data that the result of economic stabilization, economic growth appears gradual decrease of unemployment in Ukraine and the increase of wages. I want to stress that this is only the beginning", said Volodymyr Groysman.

He noted that these days millions of Ukrainian citizens had received higher pay.

Everything accumulated by the Ukrainian economy will enable us to transform and direct [the resource ed.] to the implementation of the social contract and improvement of the quality of peoples lives, urged the Prime Minister.

Moreover, the Government consistently fulfils the promises to enhance the scale of road construction, grow the volumes of production of Ukrainian gas and reduce its imports, increase salaries, promote the development of domestic manufacturers.

"These are specific things. These are not just empty promises, but fulfilment of the commitments to Ukrainian citizens that we accepted, and we are committed to keep them", stressed the Head of Government.

"Economic upswing is the result of hard work of millions of Ukrainians. This is a joint work of all employees and all the people in our country. Each of us performs his or her functions and tasks in each particular place. And we, as the Government, are also paying every effort to ensure macroeconomic stabilization, macroeconomic growth, said Volodymyr Groysman, adding that all these will definitely lead to success.
