Prime Minister of
Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman considers necessary to draft a recovery programme
for Ukraine in synergy with international partners, thereby providing an
opportunity to expedite vital changes. He said during a conference "Cheering
and Steering: Ukraine Reforms Reloaded" in Brussels.
The Head of
Government noted that in 2014 the European Union and international donors had
offered Ukraine a "Marshall Plan". In February of 2015 there was
planned a large donor conference, and was being prepared a recovery plan for
Ukraine.
As then Vice Prime
Minister in the Government of Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Volodymyr
Groysman in cooperation with European colleagues developed a step by step plan to
trigger the renewal of Ukraine. It was not realized because the planned
conference never took place and much awaited decisions were not adopted.
"I consider
that we should return to this issue. If a question arises how our friendly
European partners can help – the answer is a clear plan of Ukraine's recovery.
This means the "Marshall Plan", which we can create together, by joining
efforts accelerate transformation, bring about change, restore the sectors that
are weak nowadays", said Volodymyr Groysman.
According to him, reconstruction,
retargeting, including of the economy, should be swift.
