Ukraine and
Moldova have begun active implementation of joint projects and programs that were
stipulated for in a cooperation Roadmap agreed in February this year. This was
announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a meeting with Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filip. The meeting was held
in the framework of the GUAM summit, which took place in Kyiv at the initiative
of the Ukrainian Government.
During the
negotiations Volodymyr Groysman
noted: "I am happy to announce that all the work has begun. For us Moldova
is a friendly country".
He also
added that day Ukraine and Moldova, along with Georgia and Azerbaijan had
signed several important documents on the establishment of a free trade area within
the Organization of the GUAM States and recognition of mutual customs
procedures. "We have managed to ponder on the mechanism of interaction and
to discuss bilateral cooperation agenda”, said Volodymyr
Groysman. “It is important that we’ve inked the document
on free trade within the GUAM framework, and it means new jobs, the revival of
trade under our agreement."
During the talks
the parties also tackled pressing issues to be solved at the level of experts
and regulatory authorities of both countries, in particular in the field of
environmental impact assessment and border control.
