The Government intends to increase funding for the government program
Available Medicines, which was triggered on April 1 and provides free medicines
for chronic patients with bronchial asthma, diabetes, heart diseases by the sum
worth UAH 250 million, announced Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman
on air of TV channel "112.UA".
“We adapted transparent system which operates in the West and
implemented it in Ukraine. We are aware of complex issues and we are working on
aforesaid issues. The sum worth of 250 UAH million has been additionally
allocated– to the end of the year funds will be allocated to the tune of UAH
750 million it should be enough for us”, stressed the Head of Government. We are not satisfied with what has already
been achieved. The list of medicines under the program of reimbursement should
be expanded because this system is the most open."
Volodymyr Groysman emphasized that the challenging questions are still
remaining in the process of the implementation of the Available Medicine
program. “The system has been working only for one month,
thereby it’s obviously that it will be not easy especially due to the fact that
pharmacy chains are also being engaged in the process. I assure, the Government
has budgeted sufficient resources to ensure full implementation of the
program,” underscored the Prime Minister.
