An official visit of Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman to
Israel will open up new opportunities to establish deeper bilateral cooperation
between two countries in various spheres. The Head of Ukrainian Government issued
such a statement in the course of the meeting with President of Israel Reuven Rivlin which was held in the framework of the
official visit to the State of Israel.
“We are here to encourage bilateral cooperation. We attach great
importance to this visit and believe that we have good opportunities for
deepening our strategic partnership, urged the Prime Minister. The 25th
anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and State
of Israel marked last year and now I consider the aforesaid visit as a
continuation of the process of enhancing our cooperation in many sectors. We
would like this visit to single out concrete new opportunities."
Volodymyr Groysman underlined that in the course of the official visit
it is planned to sign a number of bilateral documents as well as to discuss
issues pertaining to enhancement of collaboration, in particular in sectors of
economy, education, healthcare and culture.
While tackling upon issues of bilateral cooperation, the interlocutors
noted the intensification of cooperation between the countries in recent years.
In particular, speaking about the prospects of deepening economic cooperation,
the Prime Minister noted the positive dynamics of bilateral trade relations
between Ukraine and Israel. Revision of the mechanisms, resolving the main
issues on the agenda will be highly beneficial for the development of the
economies of both countries, underlined Volodymyr Groysman.
During the talks the sides touched upon the issue of the countering the
Russian aggression and the implementation of the Minsk agreements. President of
Israel Reuven Rivlin expressed unwavering support for
the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The focus of the meeting was also the question of interaction of Ukraine
and Israel on the international arena, inter alia in international
organizations. In this context, Volodymyr Groysman emphasized that Ukraine
wishes independence and peace to Israel and is working towards this.
“Ukraine is a friend of Israel. We need to create close good
partnership, a promising future - we are interested in it. It is vitally to
deepen our bilateral dialogue in order to better understand each other and to
achieve more coordinated actions including in the international arena. Only
through dialogue it is possible to find solutions”, stressed Volodymyr
Groysman, expressing his congratulations to citizens of Israel on the recent
celebration of the 69th anniversary of the independence of the State of Israel.
