The
Government of Ukraine has introduced several programs to support agriculture in
Ukraine, which employs one in six Ukrainian citizen, and the current objective
is not only to sow but to process the product inside the country. This was
stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a visit to the XXIX International
Agricultural Exhibition AGRO-2017.
The Prime
Minister reminded that the reinvestment in the country this year would amount
to 1% of the volume of production, another sum worth UAH
550 million had been allotted to support the manufacturing of domestic
agricultural equipment. Next year, according to Volodymyr
Groysman, the amount of support for the agricultural
sector could reach UAH 6.5 billion, while the amount of support for agricultural
engineering - UAH 1 billion.
"We will spare no effort to introduce new technologies in the
agricultural sector. We have perfect potential in science, major investment in
the agricultural sector, and the latter is growing”, said the Prime Minister.
“However, our essential objective is to develop rural areas. I would like that
by pursuing necessary reforms we could give a new impetus to the development of
farming, small and medium-sized businesses. We must work on this issue and we
will succeed."
