Background
Ukraine and
Georgia are maintaining the relations of strategic partnership. The trade
turnover between the two countries in 2016 amounted to the tune of $ 456
million, but this figure could be doubled, up to $1 billion. Ukraine welcomes
the Georgian government's assistance in involving Ukrainian companies in the
implementation of infrastructure projects in Georgia and pledges readiness to
deepen cooperation in the area of developing the transit potential of the two
states, especially as part of the New Silk Road project.
Key issues
on the agenda of cooperation between Kyiv and Tbilisi are the continued policy
of maintaining sovereignty and territorial integrity at the bilateral level and
within international organizations, as well as rapprochement with the EU and
NATO.
