Government has agreed mechanisms for the transfer of land to community ownership

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has agreed mechanisms for the transfer of land plots to the consolidated communities (CC), including land outside of towns. The corresponding decision was approved with the assistance of Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman and stipulated the issuing of relevant Government orders to the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre.

"We have found tools for transferring all lands to property of merged communities," the Head of Government said, "We are taking about the fact that the State GeoCadastre will hand over the right to manage the land to the consolidated community. And this work must be completed in 2018".

The Prime Minister also stressed that by the end of the year, each regional department of the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre should sign memorandums with each particular CC containing information about deadlines and responsible persons for the land transfer process.

Background

At the end of January, the Prime Minister briefed that the Government has already found the best possible legal solution and is poised to kick off a process of transferring of land that is located outside the boundaries of a settlement into ownership of amalgamated territorial communities. According to the Government decision, from February the communities will be vested with the powers to regulate all land matters.
