Ukraine and Canada consider future cooperation in the implementation of renewable energy projects

Today, on February 1, First Deputy Minister Halyna Karp took part in a meeting with Canadian companies and government officials which was held at the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine. The participants of the event discussed possible cooperation in the implementation of renewable energy projects, in particular, the introduction of such a project in the Luhansk region with installment of solar panels produced in Canada, thereby providing an opportunity to generate 150 mW of energy and stabilize the electricity supply and the operation of the transmission lines in Luhansk region.

They also considered the possibility of installing batteries in green energy facilities, which will allow for daily power regulation.

On the outcomes of the meeting, the Canadian side has agreed on the proposals made, and on the elaboration of a corresponding project. The solution for the reconstruction of the aforesaid infrastructure will be provided by a consortium of Canadian companies: S2E Technologies, DAI, GoldLeaf EGF, Capital Hill Group.

The attendees noted that in case of a successful implementation of the project it is possible to prolong cooperation in this area in other regions of Ukraine.
