The issue of
compliance with security requirements concerns not only the inspection of
public institutions introduced by the Government of Ukraine on compliance with
fire safety standards, but also the conduct of other campaigns, including food
security screening campaigns. The
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said on the air of one of the TV channels.
"This is a grave
question. And
it sounds like something of global importance, but in fact we are facing it
every day. We will establish an
order. I'm
against fining someone, but I stand for everyone start doing their jobs", said
Volodymyr Groysman.
He reminded that
fire prevention systems checks were fueled by a number of tragedies that had led
to casualties, in particular children. Prevention
measures and providing security is a priority objective of the country. "I
want to apologize for the inconvenience, but it's better to go through
verification and training. God willing this
knowledge will never be applied. But in case of
danger, everyone must understand how to act. And
I would not recommend anyone playing in the current situation or seeking for
extra money by blocking emergency exits, for example. We seek to protect people
from danger. Everyone
should be interested to undergo the checks", said Volodymyr
Groysman.
Background
In late March
this year, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman initiated large-scale inspections of public
institutions - from kindergartens to large entertainment centers for compliance
with norms, first of all, fire safety. In the first days of the checks that began
on March 30, dozens of institutions were checked all across the regions of
Ukraine. The State Emergency Service regularly informs about preliminary
results of inspections and the most resonant cases.
