The current average wage in Ukraine makes up UAH 7, 700, while the average wage in Kyiv has already exceeded UAH 12, 500, told Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko in an interview with Ukrinform.

Pavlo Rosenko reminded that previous year the Government had adopted a decision to increase the minimum wage by half, and on January 1, 2018, the minimum wage grew by another 18%. "Raising the monthly minimum wage last year to UAH 3, 200 from UAH 1, 600 is a step that shows people that the Government will exert every effort to make the labour remuneration system fairer. This year we took it a step further, and now the minimum wage is UAH 3,772, which exceeds last year’s showing by 18%", the Vice Prime Minister explained.

"That is, in recent years Ukraine has made a leap forward in wages. We have halted the adverse trend. Then the wages will grow, the working conditions will improve, and we will make every effort to prevent people from looking for their place abroad, but unlock their potential here", stressed the Vice Prime Minister.
