Ukraine has already become a global security contributor, says Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze

Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze held a meeting with ambassadors of NATO member countries.

The parties discussed the implementation of the Annual National Programme of NATO-Ukraine cooperation for 2016 and plans for 2017. For the first time in history, our country have completed the full cycle of strategic planning, with the participation of the Alliance advisors in the preparation process. Among the approved documents are the Strategy of National Defence of Ukraine, the Military Doctrine of Ukraine, the Concept of Development of Security and Defence Sector of Ukraine, the Strategic Defence Bulletin, the Cyber Security Strategy of Ukraine and the State Target Program of reforming and developing the Defense-Industrial Complex for the period till 2020.

In 2016, Ukraine participated in 10 largest international NATO-run exercises: 4 took place in Ukraine and 6 - abroad. Despite the Russian aggression, Ukraine provided 508 military to participate in the UN and NATOs international missions. In particular, the Vice Prime Minister stressed the importance to ensure exchange of information to counter hybrid warfare and coordinate training and exercises.I believe that Ukraine has already become an active contributor not just to the European but to the global security. We are involved in daily hostilities and prevent the aggressor to move further to the west," stressed Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze.

Moreover, Vice Prime Minister singled out a gender equality issue in law enforcement agencies. Among the top priority objectives for the Government in this sphere are to raise awareness in the institutions, improve the structure and change the perception of the gender equality issue. One of the crucial goals is the appointment of a responsible for the gender equality policy in law enforcement bodies. Ukraine is counting on the experience and assistance of the NATO in this point.
