Georgia are united in protecting the territorial integrity of the two States,
condemning any manifestation of aggression and the illegal annexation of
territories, in particular of Crimea. Such
a stance was voiced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr
Groysman and President of Georgia
Giorgi Margvelashvili. The
meeting took place in Tbilisi within the framework of the official
visit of Volodymyr Groysman to Georgia.
"I would like
to express gratitude to the leadership of Georgia for the steadfast position
and support for Ukraine. We
are encouraged to note the intensification of a political dialogue between our States," emphasized Volodymyr Groysman, “I want to stress that
Ukraine demonstrates unwavering support for the territorial integrity and
sovereignty of Georgia as well. Our

relations between the countries."
stressed that the current year – an anniversary of the establishment of
diplomatic relations between Kyiv and Tbilisi – had become a landmark year
enabling the two countries to speeding up constructive and effective
negotiations, while relations between the States were strategic along every
direction of mutual partnership.
In this context the Head of Ukrainian Government placed a special
emphasis on the interaction between the two countries in resolving the
situation in Donbas, in particular the strengthening of the OSCE mission in the
region and the advancing the diplomatic decisions on the introduction of a
peacekeeping mission in Donbas under the United Nations and intergovernmental
associations auspices, first of all GUAM, where Georgia presides.
Equally important are issues pertaining to the cooperation in the
framework of rapprochement with NATO and the European Union, as well as the
development of bilateral trade relations. According to the Prime Minister, the
two states possess necessary resources in order to double the annual trade
turnover figure and bring it to 1 billion dollars.
Ukraine and Georgia are maintaining the relations of strategic
partnership. The trade turnover between the two countries in 2016 amounted to
the tune of $ 456 million, but this figure could be doubled, up to $1 billion.
Ukraine praises the Georgian government's assistance in involving Ukrainian
companies in the implementation of infrastructure projects in Georgia and
pledges readiness to deepen cooperation in the area of developing the transit
potential of the two states, especially as part of the New Silk Road project.
