Minister of State for Europe at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office of the Great Britain David Lidington during a telephone conversation with the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Ostap Semerak confirmed readiness of the British Government to provide technical and expert assistance to the Government of Ukraine in carrying out reforms.

"We have agreed to start such cooperation in the near future,” Ostap Semerak underlined.

According to the Ukrainian official, the British Minister assured the support of the UK Government of steps that Ukrainian authorities are making in order to resolve the current political situation in Ukraine.

In his turn Semerak Ostap thanked for the support of the British Government. The UK Foreign Secretary William Hague’s today’s visit to Ukraine is an example of such support. “This is an important gesture of support for Ukraine in the current situation,” the Ukrainian official emphasized.

Ostap Semerak informed David Lidington about the course of the anti-terrorist operation on the Eastern territory of Ukraine.

The Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers also told his British counterpart about the steps taken by Ukraine towards European integration. Ostap Semerak noted the importance of holding on May 13 in Brussels a joint meeting of the Government of Ukraine and the Board of the European Commission, which will discuss further ways of cooperation.
