Subdivisions of the State Border Service of Ukraine continue measures to restore protection and defence of the state frontier in the border areas of Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

On June 24, from 4 to 6 o’clock there took place clashes and bombardment of roadblocks and strongholds on the state border line in the area of Biriukovo and Dyakove of Luhansk region. The borderguards were attacked with use of small arms and weapons as well as mortar fire. There were not fixed losses from the side of border officers.

The State Border Service ascertains the presence in the border area of illegal armed groups and movement of military equipment and subdivisions of the Armed Forces of Russia in the vicinity of Ukrainian border.

Despite the fact that the international border checkpoint Izvaryne of Luhansk region was temporarily closed by the Government of Ukraine, the terrorists backed by the Russian side carry out the admission of persons through the border. In this connection protection of the border line is intensified by the checkpoints of the AFU and the State Border Service which were deployed several kilometres afar from the border crossing point targeting to exercise control.

Besides, patrol aircrafts of the State Border Service conducted examination of surface conditions in the exclusive (maritime) economic zone of Ukraine on the area of 5670 square kilometres. Moreover, there was held monitoring of the situation on the border section in Sumy and Chernihiv regions. The examination didn’t reveal any violations of navigation regime and illegal border crossing in the mentioned directions.
