A mission of the International Monetary Fund in Ukraine, led by Nikolay Gueorguiev, will work in Kyiv by the end of the week. The constructive dialogue between the IMF delegation and the Ukrainian Government members is continuing.

As a reminder, on July 9 at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said it was about getting the second tranche of the IMF worth US$ 1.5 billion to stabilize the economic situation in Ukraine.

"I hope that our negotiations will be successful. According to our preliminary assessments, Ukraine has fulfilled the criteria that have been set out in our program with the IMF. We should complete the negotiations, and this should be a successful completion with a view to getting the second tranche and to continuing the difficult, but right economic reforms in Ukraine", said the Prime Minister.

At the beginning of the IMF Mission’s visit to Ukraine, Minister of Finance Olexandr Shlapak drew delegation’s attention to the fact that the Ukrainian side is open for dialogue and cooperation.

In late April, the IMF Board approved a two-year loan program for financing Ukraine's economy by US$ 17.01 billion. The first tranche was granted in early May, it was US$ 3.19 billion.
