After the first stage of budget decentralization revenues of local budgets have increased: “In January-February general local budget fund received UAH 13 billion, which is by 25% more than over the same period of previous year", explained Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk during the teleconference with heads of regional state administrations on Tuesday, March 24.

"I realize that this is not the limit. And due to our joint work and true fight against corruption, launching the economy, the financial results will be better," he stressed.

The Prime Minister reminded the heads of regional state administrations had been commissioned to provide a public report for each region on the use of local budget funds: “The commission hasn’t been implemented yet. I would ask in a month’s time to execute the Government’s commission and publish on the websites of regional state administrations the information on a weekly basis - how much money has been received and which key expenditure components they were sent for".

He stressed the citizens should see "that payment of taxes in the country yield a result – a road or school has been repaired, salary, pension, social benefits paid".

"Transparency in the use of public funds is a requirement of today. It doesn’t mean the money of officials, but the money of the country. These are the funds paid by each Ukrainian in taxes. These are the funds of a company providing jobs and paying taxes to the State Treasury. These are the funds to be used for each Ukrainian citizen and to restore the country in whole", accentuated Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
