Prime Minister: The next challenge for the Government after an increase of the minimum wage twofold is a fair pension system

The Government is elaborating decisions to change the pension system in Ukraine to make it fairer and more efficient. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on answering journalists' questions in Paris.

“We're seeking necessary solutions to change the pension system itself and to make it more just and more comprehensive, so that people could feel that real incomes from pensions grew”, said Volodymyr Groysman.

The Head of Government reminded that from December 1, 2016 pensions would be increased by 10%.

“This growth is insufficient”, said the Prime Minister. “I am not satisfied with it, but it's a step forward”, he said.

According to Volodymyr Groysman, the next challenge for the Government after the minimum wage will be increased twofold – up to UAH 3200 – is the introduction of a fair pension system.

“It will also take time to find relevant decisions. Today, we are working hard at it”, he said.

As soon as the Government finds the solution, it will immediately inform the Ukrainian citizens, promised the Prime Minister.
