Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and
Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze
and Ambassador of Ukraine to the U.S. Valeriy Chaly met with Chairman of the Subcommittee on State,
Foreign Operations, and Related Programs, member of armed services, judiciary
and budget committees Lindsey Graham.
The interlocutors discussed priorities as regards repelling the
continuing Russian aggression against Ukraine. The Vice Prime Minister and
Ambassador of Ukraine thanked the senator for his support in the passage by the
U.S. Congress of legislation making available an increased U.S. financial and
security assistance to Ukraine. They expressed appreciation for the inclusion
of an authorization for provision to Ukraine of additional U.S. loan guarantees
in the ‘State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act,
2017’, a bill cleared by senator Graham’s Subcommittee.
Particular attention was rendered in the meeting to future
collaboration in ensuring the passage by the Senate and signing into law of the
‘Stability and Democracy for Ukraine Act’.
Senator Graham assured of his intention to continue to keep
support of Ukraine among his priorities and in this context confirmed his
intention to visit Ukraine together with Senate Armed Service Committee Chairman
John McCain this December.
