Ukraine’s Minister of Defence: Ministry of Defence and General Staff of Ukraine completely fulfilled 2016 Reform Plan

Minister of Defence of Ukraine General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak stated it during a meeting with representatives of foreign military attachés.

According to the Minister, despite the ongoing armed conflict the Ukrainian army sticks to the reform plan.

“We have approved all defence planning documents considering economic and financial capacities of the state. We have developed the Strategy of National Security of Ukraine, the Military Doctrine, the Concept of Development of Security and Defence Sector of Ukraine, the Strategic Defence Bulletin (reforms roadmap). The State Target Program of Development of Armament and Military Equipment till 2020 is almost ready, the Government is considering the State Program of Development of the Armed Forces of Ukraine till 2020,” he briefed.

He added that the activities of the Committee of Reforms of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine are based on Matrix of Achievement of Main Goals of Defence Reform.

“We understand it’s very difficult to implement reforms during a war. Meanwhile, we have completely fulfilled 2016 Reform Plan,” the Minister underscored.
