The Cabinet of
Ministers of Ukraine has commenced an official procedure for the selection of
international partners to jointly manage the Ukrainian gas transport system. The
relevant decision was adopted today at a Government sitting.
There will be
conducted preliminary consultations with international GTS operators that meet
the requirements specified in part one of Article 21 of the Law of Ukraine
"On the Gas Market". On
the basis of the analysis of such information, conditions will be developed to
launch a tender to attract one or more GTS partners to PJSC Mahistralni Hazoprovody Ukrainy.
Under the above
ordinance, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine and the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine are commissioned within 10 days to inform international
GTSOs about such consultations.
document stipulates for the establishment by the Cabinet of Ministers of
Ukraine of a Working Group responsible for the search and selection of
international partners to engage in joint management of the Ukrainian GTS. Vice
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion is appointed Chairman of the Working Group.
The Working Group
comprises the Minister and other representatives of the Ministry of Energy and
Coal Industry, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development, Member
of the Supervisory Board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine,
acting Chairman of Board of PJSC Mahistralni Hazoprovody Ukrainy, acting Chairman of the Verkhovna
Rada Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear
Policy and Nuclear Safety,
Member of the National Regulation Commission on Energy and Utilities of Ukraine,
representatives of the European Commission and the Energy Community
Secretariat, the US Embassy in Ukraine.
