Gov't completes negotiations with General Electric, says Volodymyr Groysman

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in synergy with the Ukrzaliznytsia PJSC have completed the negotiations with the US industrial giant General Electric on the program for retrofitting the rolling stock of the Ukrzaliznytsia and traction production. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman announced at a Gov’t session Wednesday.

"Ukrzaliznytsia and the Government have wound up the talks with General Electric. In late February we will sign a contract for the production of new steam engines for trains," said Volodymyr Groysman.

He emphasized the parties have reached an accord that the localization of production will be 40% at least, and, besides, Ukraine will join the global production network of the American company.

Apart from that, the Head of Government emphasized in spring the Beskyd Tunnel will be put into operation - a major infrastructure facility aimed to significantly expand the possibilities of using rail transport in the west of Ukraine.
